Simple Healthy Eating Plans

Do you struggle to find a balance in your healthy eating habits and your not so healthy eating habits? With more of us feeling the effects of our fatness everyday and more people tipping the scales on the side of being overweight. It’s no wonder why so many people are so un-healthy and struggling to keep those extra pounds off their waste year after year.

Every year there is a new fad diet that hits the magazines, book stores and talk show circuits all of them promising to be the go to diet for finally loosing those extra pounds. I think we are all smart enough to know at this point that the majority of those fad diets will usually burn out in popularity just as fast as they came onto the scene

I struggle with a few extra pounds here and there as the years go by but I am totally aware of why I go up and down with those extra pounds. My eating habits fluctuate based on the time of the year meaning the seasons as well as based on my emotional state. Like it or not the majority of us have emotional triggers that when switched on will have us eating things we know we shouldn’t but they are comfort foods to get us through those hard times ;-)

For the most part though I have learned to be aware of those instances and get control of my eating habits before I manage to pack on more than a few extra pounds around the waste. I have learned that keeping my eating plans simple have made them much easier to stay healthy. First things first and I am sure for those of you that have done any research on healthy eating habits that this simple eating tip will be of no surprise to you. Yet it is worth mentioning  I suppose since very few people seem to follow it. Plan to eat at least five meals a day  I know simple stuff right?

Surprisingly though this I think is one of the biggest factors that I have noticed in my personal weight fluctuations. I find that when my days get filled with work, family and other normal activities and I don’t “make” the time to eat. That’s when I tend to gain the most poundage because I will eat bigger meals to make up for the smalls ones I missed. Does this sound familiar? I have gotten pretty good at planning my meals during the week, thankfully because I have a pretty steady work schedule that forces me to stay on task with my eating habits. I usually falter on the five meals a day during the weekends when the family and I are running around doing our thing again does this sound familiar to you?

I relate the five meals a day thing to when we were babies and we were all babies at one time or another, some of us continue to be babies about certain things but that’s another subject ;-) Anyway when we were babies we had a very simple healthy eating plan which was every couple of hours we ate. The key there was every few hours, it was that way for all of us and you know why? Natural instinct is why, it is our natural instinct to keep a simple healthy eating plan but do we follow our natural instincts?

Nope we do not we push our natural instinct to stick to a simple healthy eating plan and we clutter it up with play time, school, family, friends, jobs and all the other things we manage to stuff into our lives. All of it pushing our simple healthy eating plan down the ladder of importance. It really can be as simple as making eating more frequently a higher priority on a personal level. You will find that if you do manage to eat more meals during the day that those meals will gradually get to be smaller as your body adjust to having fresh food for fuel. Food that your body will use to keep your energy levels up and more balanced and when that happens you will see your body start to keep less fat in storage around your waste, thighs or where ever else your body tends to store the extras.

I’m telling you the best thing I ever did for my long term health was make eating a higher priority and sticking to a simple healthy eating plan 8-)
