Ooooohh! The Atkins Diet, South Beach Diet, Detox Diet the list goes on and on and on. With only more to come. So what is the result of all these marketed diet plans claiming to be the right diet for you to loose that extra weight that you have slowly packed on as the years go by.
It is in the very nature of the word diet to mean it is a “temporary” fix and there lies the biggest problem is that it is temporary! There appears to be a bigger movement lately to actually educating people on how to eat smartly and in moderation. With some of the more successful plans promoting a long term goal of eating! That’s right eating not dieting but eating healthy for life.
Finding a balance in your diet and learning to enjoy eating a balanced diet is perhaps one of the greatest challenges for most of the people fighting to maintain a healthy weight. As most people have some sort of emotional attachement to the food they eat and use food to ease their stress in life or emotional ups and downs. Using food as buffer to cope with those daily grinds that happen in everyone’s life.
The key is to educate yourself about what works for your mind and body. Realizing what protiens can do stabalize your hunger and the differences between carbs and complex carbs as well as the liquids you take in and how much is enough for you. Stop kidding yourself! Look in the mirror you know what you are eating and why you look and feel the way you do. What you put into your body has EVERYTHING to do with how your mind and body work for you through out your days.
Moderation is key, too much of anything can only lead you down a slippery slope. Get off the diet train, don’t believe every diets claim to be the ultimate solution to your weight loss. Those companies and books that tell us these things do that for one key reason. Money there is huge amounts of money in the diet plan industry. So be smart with your money and be healthy with the foods you choose.
